I joined. Now What?

You have joined the Chamber, now what?!
Use this 180-day membership checklist as a tool to help you utilize your membership to the fullest. We are excited to have you join our team!

Within 30 Days

Become familiar with website, especially the Business Directory, where you can see all the members of the Chamber of Commerce.
Get social! Go “like” and “follow” the Chamber’s Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, and Youtube.
Get connected! Sign up to receive Chamber updates via email.
Join the Chamber’s “Member’s Only” Facebook Group to participate in discussion and ask question.
Add the Chamber’s digital logo to your business website. The Executive Director LeAnna Lee can email the logo.
 If you’re a new business, contact us to discuss a ribbon cutting for your business. The Chamber can also do ribbon cutting’s for milestone anniversaries, relocations, and special occasions.
Everyone in your company is now a member, make sure to select specific reps for your business listing. Representatives to consider: Billing, Marketing, Human Resources, Public Relations, CEO/Owner, etc. Make sure you have a representative selected who can disseminate information to employees (discounts, events, benefits, community initiatives, etc.)

Within 90 Days

Display your membership certificate openly. Studies show that people view Chamber membership as a sign of credibility for a business.
Register for at least one Chamber networking event: Breakfast with the Chamber, Lunch and Learn, Ribbon Cutting, etc.
Stop by the Chamber to meet your Chamber staff and drop off any literature (ex: menus, event flyers, business cards, rack cards, etc.) that you would like displayed in our office.
Email the chamber at director@perquimanschamber.com, your digital logo, any events happening, flyers or announcements. We will post these to our website, newsletter, Facebook, and Instagram.
Use a fellow member when fulfilling business and personal needs for goods and services. Check out our business directory on our website and do not forget to ask about member to member services.
 Post a member to member deal and/or hot deal to promote your services or products to the other Chamber members in the Facebook “Closed Group”.
Look for potential business connections in the member business directory on our website. Can you potentially refer business to them or refer that business to a friend?
Tag the Chamber in a social media post. Asking the Chamber to share your social media posts helps you reach a wider audience!

Within 180 Days

Review the benefits you receive with your chosen membership level.
Explore ways you can extend your business brand through the Chamber’s advertising opportunities (banner ads on our website, member-2-member email, sponsoring events, etc.)
Encourage your staff to attend a Chamber event and/or offer the business training for Breakfast with the Chamber or Lunch in Learn.
Submit a member Testimonial and pictures to director@perquimanschamber.com. You will be featured on our blog, newsletter, and social media.
Review your membership ROI (return on investment). Are we meeting the goals you set for joining the Chamber? If not call us at 252-506-2656.
Invite a potential member to join the Chamber or attend a Chamber event with you.


Update your Member profile.


Attend a General Chamber Meeting.

Promote Your Business

Add a member-to-member discount or send us something to share on Facebook.

Find Employees

Use the chamber newsletter and Facebook page to feature your job listing and to reach candidates.

Build Credibility

Sponsor an event or join a committee.
