Jessica Hudson
Hello everyone! My name is Jessica Hudson. I am a wife and mother living on the outskirts of town. My husband and I have been together for 9 years and married for 8. We have two daughters, Noelle (3) and Rylee (1).
My husband and I both grew up in Central Florida. I graduated from Lake Weir High School in 2012 and continued my education at CFCC where I received an Associate’s in Arts degree. While attending school, I met my husband working at our local pizzeria and we have been inseparable ever since! We got married on our one-year anniversary. Within our first year of marriage, my husband joined the United States Navy, and we were stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. We lived in Virginia for a couple years before planting our roots in Edenton.
Growing up, I always dreamed of becoming a mother. It took a couple years, but we finally had our miracle baby, Noelle. Noelle is now 3 years old and has level 3 autism. She is currently non-verbal and can only make sounds. I pride myself in being able to understand her when no one else can. There are many forms of autism, but the severity of Noelle’s has inadvertently brought out my best qualities. Empathy, understanding and patience. All qualities which would be most fitting for the board.
I have always had a longing for the old country life and Hertford delivers just that! Traveling through town really makes you feel like you are in a Hallmark movie! I am infatuated with the shops and all the lovely owners. I have become friends with locals and just seeing Mr. Byrum on the corner has become routine. Currently, I am working at Hertford Baptist Church so you may have seen me strolling through town. I also do photography for the chamber; market vending and I volunteer for community events. Anything that Hertford does, I always want to be a part of and help!
The town of Hertford has so much potential, it just needs the right love and attention. I feel like I could fill those shoes! Thank you for considering me to join the board! I am grateful for this opportunity.
